A Quiet Beginning: Welcoming the New Year with Intention
The New Year often arrives loudly.
Resolutions, expectations, pressure to become more, do more, be more.
But this year, I’m choosing a quieter beginning.
Instead of rushing to define who I should be, I’m allowing space to feel who I already am. I’m entering this new year not with a list of demands, but with intention — and with trust.
Minimalism has taught me that meaningful change doesn’t come from adding more. It comes from making space. Space to breathe. Space to listen. Space to create from a place of honesty rather than urgency.
What I’m Carrying Into This Year
I’m carrying presence — choosing to show up fully, even in the small moments.
I’m carrying simplicity — in my work, my home, and my expectations.
I’m carrying connection — with the people I photograph, with my art, and with myself.
I’m leaving behind the need to rush.
The pressure to prove.
The noise that distracts me from what truly matters.
A New Creative Season
This year, I want my photography to feel the way I want my life to feel:
Calm. Honest. Intentional.
I want my images to breathe.
I want my sessions to feel safe and unforced.
I want to create work that holds emotion — quietly, deeply, truthfully.
Not louder work.
Not faster work.
But work that feels real.
An Invitation
If you’re stepping into this year feeling tired, overwhelmed, or unsure — you’re not alone.
What if this year doesn’t ask us to transform completely, but simply to arrive more fully?
To slow down.
To clear space.
To choose what aligns — and gently let go of the rest.
Here’s to a year of intention over intensity.
Presence over pressure.
Less noise, more meaning.
Happy New Year 🤍
From my lens to your heart,
María Lozano
